Joes Valley Reservoir Campground has 49 campsites and is located next to and just above the reservoir at an elevation of 7,150 feet. The campground is generally open early May to mid-October. Many campsites have great views of the water, and some sites are shaded. There are both single and double-family campsites available. Juniper, pinyon pine and sagebrush cover the area, and aspen and pine dot the surrounding hillsides.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a paved parking spur, table, fire ring and grill. Campground amenities include drinking water, vault toilets and trash collection. A boat ramp is also located within the campground. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host.  Cell service is not available in the area.

You might also like Scofield State Park (Mountain View Campground) or Madsen Bay Campground. Both are over next to Scofield Reservoir. Other campgrounds in the area include Potters Pond, Indian Creek, Lake Hill and Willow Lake.

Joes Valley Reservoir – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, fishing, water sports, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also great in the area.  The expansive Arapeen OHV Trail System can be accessed just west of the reservoir and has more than 350 miles of designated, well-maintained trails that are suitable for all riding skill levels.
