Mt. Timpanogos Campground has 27 single-family campsites and is located along the Alpine Loop Scenic Byway, next to the Mount Timpanogos Wilderness. It’s also close to the Sundance Resort. The campground is generally open early June to late September (weather permitting).

The campsites are set in a beautiful forest of aspen and fir trees. Some have great views of the mountains. Campground roads and campsite parking spurs are paved.  The sites can accommodate  up to 8 people. RVs and trailers longer than 20 feet are not permitted. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill.  Other campground amenities include drinking water and flush toilets. Cell service is good and firewood can be purchased from the camp host.

Mt. Timpanogos – Area Recreation & Activities

This is a great base camp for hikers wanting to explore the Mt. Timpanogos Wilderness. The trailhead for the 14 mile (round trip) Aspen Grove Trail is across the road and climbs to the summit of Mount Timpanogos.  The Alpine Loop Scenic Byway also passes by the campground and offers motor touring through alpine canyons, mountain meadows and aspen groves. Wildlife viewing is also great in the area.

Other campgrounds in the area include Theater in the Pines (Group), Timpooneke, Altamont (Group), Little Mill and Granite Flat.
