Elwah Campground is permanently closed due to the Elwha River reclaiming the valley after the removal of the Glines Canyon dam.

Elwha campground has 40 campsites right along the Elwha River in Olympic National Park.  The campsites can accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs (21 to 35 feet). Our favorite Elwha campsites are 1, 19, 21 and 25.

Each campsite has a table, fire ring and grate. The campground has drinking water in the summer and pit toilets. There is no water in the winter months.

The campground is first-come, first-serve and is generally open mid May through September. Campsites are generally large and spread out, offering nice privacy.

Elwah – Area Recreation

Outdoor recreation in the area includes canoeing, kayaking, fishing, mountain biking, hiking, picnicking, photography and wildlife viewing.

Heart O the Hills campground is another option, and it is open during the summer months.
