Hood Park Campground Lake Wallula Washington

Hood Park Overview

Hood Park 040

Hood Park campground has 67 campsites (with electric hookups) and is located along the shores of Lake Wallula in eastern Washington. Lewis & Clark camped just a few miles downstream at the confluence of the Snake and Columbia Rivers.  Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. In addition to electric hookups, each site has a table, lantern post, fire ring and grate. Campsites are fairly large and spread out throughout the campground. Large trees provide nice shade to most sites and manicured grass surrounds all campsites.

Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers ($) and a dump station. There’s also a nice playground, swimming area and boat ramp. Firewood is also available for purchase from the camp host. Cell service is good in the area

Hood Park – Area Recreation

Lake Wallula offers some nice boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming and other water sports. Other outdoor recreation includes hiking, biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.  the McNary National Wildlife Refuge is also next to the park and offers a great place to view a variety of waterfowl, bald eagles and shorebirds.

  1. Is there a full time /part time park host on site

  2. Sandra Williams says:

I am looking to host a family reunion in August 2024, we have came to Hood Park many time, I would like to see how much it is to rent the covered picnic area, thank you

    • Hi Sandra,
The covered picnic shelter/area rents for $110 per day (plus reservation fee). You can click on the ‘Make A Reservation’ button to check availability, pricing and reserve. I’d do so as far in advance as possible. And for the picnic shelter – you can make reservations now for August, 2024. The reservation window for campsites opens 6 months prior to arrival.
