Due to hazardous trees in the old-growth forest, the campground area is closed indefinitely.

South Whidbey Island State Park is a 381-acre camping park with 4,500 feet of saltwater shoreline on Admiralty Inlet. The Park features include old-growth forest, tidelands for crabbing, and clamming.

At this time the campground is closed due to tree diseases, which pose a tree-fall risk. However, the day-use/picnic area are open year round.

South Whidbey Island State Park campground has 54 campsites which can accommodate tents, trailers, and RV’s (50 feet maximum). There are 46 tent spaces and 8 RV hookup spaces. The campground has a campfire center,  1 dump station, 2 restrooms with flush toilets (one ADA), and 4 showers available. Each campsite has a table, fire ring, and grill.

Outdoor activities include biking, fishing, hiking, picnicking, clamming, crabbing, swimming and wildlife viewing.

Fort Casey State Park and Fort Ebey State Park are also nearby.
