Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park is 2 miles from the ocean and is not within walking distance. The sand dunes are Honeyman's main attraction, giving campers plenty of hiking opportunities. There are also 2 fresh water lakes providing fishing, swimming, boating, water skiing, and windsurfing. The lodge store is open from Memorial Weekend through Labor Day, offering snacks, souvenirs, pedal boats, canoes and kayaks to rent. In late April to the middle of May, the Rhododendrons are in full bloom making it a profusion of color.
Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park campground has 416 sites including for RVs and tents, as well as 10 yurt, 6 group, 1 ADA tent and 3 ADA standard sites. The campground is very popular and is located on the Oregon coast 3 miles south of Florence on Highway 101. It is the 2nd largest overnight campground in the state with two miles of sand dunes between the park and the ocean. The park also has two natural freshwater lakes – great for fishing, swimming and boating.
