Alamo Lake State Park campground has 217 single-family campsites located on a small hill close to the lake in the Bill Williams River Valley.
The campground has 6 camping areas and 99 of the sites have hookups. Camp Area F has 19 full hookups, Camp Area B has 27 with water and electric, the Ramada Area has 12 with electric and Camp Area C has 41 electric sites. Camp Area A, D and E offer dry camping. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate. Campground amenities include drinking water, vault/flush toilets and showers. There’s also an amphitheater, dump ramps, dump station, flush cleaning station, market, playground and ranger station.
Alamo Lake State Park is located about 37 miles north of Wenden and offers a wide variety of outdoor recreation opportunities in the Bill Williams River Valley. The lake is known for its premier bass fishing and wildflowers are also plentiful – especially after spring rains. There Park also has great opportunities to view wildlife including eagles, foxes, coyotes, deer and wild burros. Hiking, mountain biking and OHVing are also popular.
Burro Creek campground is about 70 miles (east) and has 24 first-come, first-served sites along a creek.
