Fremont Campground has 14 campsites and is located on a hillside close to the Santa Ynez River in the Los Padres National Forest. The campsites are relatively spacious and large oak trees provide shade to most sites. Campsites 1-3 and 11-14 are walk-in, tent-only campsites. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate. The campground is open mid March through October. There is also one campsite that is first-come, first-serve.

Campground amenities include drinking water and flush toilets. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host.

Fremont – Area Recreation

The Santa Ynez River is popular for a variety of water-related recreation. It can be accessed at nearby White Rock Day Use Area. Cachuma Lake Recreation Area, a no-body-contact reservoir, is also nearby. It offers boating, kayaking and fishing opportunities. Other outdoor recreation in the area includes hiking, mountain biking, OHVing, picnicking and horseback riding. Wildlife viewing is also nice in the area.

Other campgrounds in the area include Cachuma LakeParadise, Los Prietos, Sage Hill Group and Upper Oso.
