We haven’t been to Grizzly Creek for many years. Are dogs allowed? Is there still an evening campfire program in the little amphitheater?

  2. I have no idea how this place is rated at over 4 stars. I give it 1. One for the awesome staff who were extremely helpful and for the day use creek area which was neat. Other than that this is not nor should ever be called camping. Hwy 36 is so close to the road side spots you can feel the rumbling as trucks go by and its constant. All. Night. Long. Oh and the locals are kind enough to either honk as they drive by or floor it so they’re accelerating and making as much noise as possible. I just don’t see how being on the creek side can make the noise any better as its only an additional 20 yards or so away. In addition our neighbors decided to be loud, set up their equipment and sleeping mattresses not when they arrived in the day but at night after heavy drinking, and had no concept of camping etiquette whatsoever. We had a 3 night stay planned and left after the first single worst night camping of my life. Went to Humboldt Redwoods State Park and found a nice spot un-reserved.

  3. This truely was a hidden gem. Yes it was close to the road. But after dark the road noise cut way back. We stayed one night in site #20 which was huge and the redwoods were magnificent. We needed a one night spot and it was perfect. Showeres were hot and clean. All sites looked nice and well spaced out and setting was great. Not a place for more than 2 nights but the river, visitor center, and sites were great.
