Mt. Madonna County Park is located in the Santa Cruz Mountain Range and has 4 campgrounds with 118 campsites. The park includes 4,605 acres of redwood forest, oak woodland, dense chaparral, grassy meadows and sparkling streams.

There are both drive-in and walk-in campsites throughout the 4 campgrounds/loops. Valley View 1 includes campsites 101-149, Valley View 2 includes campsites 201-221, Valley View 2 includes campsites 301-325, and Tan Oak loop includes sites 401-421. Valley View 1 also has 17 sites with partial hookups and sites 125, 128, 130, 132 and 134 have yurts..  Five group campsites are also available in the park.

Amenities include drinking water, vault and flush toilets, showers, RV dump station and trash collection. Each campsite has a table, food storage locker, fire pit and grate. There’s also an amphitheater, visitor center, archery range, equestrian staging area and picnic areas. Cell service is fair to poor depending on where you’re located.

Mt. Madonna County Park – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation at the park includes hiking, horseback riding, archery, photography, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

This 4,605-acre park is dominated by the redwood forest so characteristic of the Santa Cruz Mountain range. To the east, the park overlooks the Santa Clara Valley, to the west, Monterey Bay. As the slopes of Mt. Madonna descend toward the valley, the landscape changes from redwood forest to oak woodland, dense chaparral and grassy meadows.

If you’re heading toward the coast you may also like Sunset State Beach or Manresa State Beach.
