Texas Flats Campground offers 4 horse-friendly group campsites along the banks of McGilvery Creek. Although horse-friendly, the campground does not have any facilities or corrals for horses.

The 4 group sites are:
– Red Fir (up to 30 people / 15 vehicles)
– White Fir (up to 25 people / 12 vehicles)
– Cedar (up to 30 people / 15 vehicles)
– Manzanita (up to  20 people / 10 vehicles)

Campsites can be reserved and will accommodate tents and smaller trailers/RVs (up to 20 feet).  Check-in tie is 2pm and check-out is 12pm. Each site also has a tables, fire rings and grills.

The campground is generally open mid May to mid September. Amenities vault toilets and trash collection. Potable water is not available but you can filter from creek. Cell services is not available.

Other campgrounds in the general area include Kelty Meadow, Chilkoot, Soquel and Crane Valley.

Texas Flats – Area Recreation & Activities

Nearby logging and forest roads can be used as equestrian, hiking or mountain biking. The Shadow of the Giants, a popular 1-mile hike through a grove of giant sequoias, is just a short drive northwest of the campground. Other activities include picnicking and wildlife viewing.
