Van Pugh South Campground has 55 campsites next to beautiful Lake Sidney Lanier in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Northern Georgia. There are 37 sites with water & electric hookups and 18 primitive (tent-only) sites.
The water & electric hookup sites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 26 feet). Each site also has a paved parking spur, table, fire ring and grill. The primitive (tent-only) sites have a paved parking spur, table, fire ring and grill.
Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot-water showers, laundry facilities, trash collection and a dump station. There’s also a boat ramp at the campground. Cell service is good in the area.
Other campgrounds in the area include Old Federal, Sawnee, Bald Ridge Creek, Duckett Mill and Bolding Mill.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, water sports, swimming, fishing, hiking, biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
