Most sites are on the water.

If you’re in Atlanta and looking for a great campground, this is the one to check out. The majority of the sites are big-rig accessible, but be aware that some of them have steep drives that may be difficult to navigate. The dump station is centrally located, which makes it easy to use with a blue boy. Additionally, there’s a small boat ramp and a convenience dock for those who enjoy water activities. The boat ramp and convenience dock provide easy access to the water for those who bring their boats or jet skis.

There’s also a public beach on-site, which is a great place to relax and enjoy the water. The beach is well-maintained and offers plenty of space for sunbathing and swimming.

As of May 2023, the bathhouses are currently being replaced, with one already in progress and two remaining. Each bathhouse comes equipped with a washer and dryer that costs $1.50 to use. The sites are spacious, and many even offer some level of privacy and direct access to the water or beach.

Overall, the campground is quiet, clean, and well-maintained. However, it’s worth noting that parking on the grass is prohibited, and the park attendants are vigilant about enforcing this rule. While some may find this strict enforcement a bit objectionable, the result is a beautifully-maintained park that looks great. All in all, this is a great place to stay when in Atlanta.
