Cochiti Recreation Area Overview

Cochiti Recreation Area campground has 65 campsites in 4 loops and is located next to Cochiti Lake and within the Pueblo de Cochiti Indian Reservation.  There are 55 sites with electric hookups. The Juniper loop has electric hookups and some with water. The Buffalo Grove loop have sites with water & electric hookups.  The other loops have standard sites (no hookups). Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 65 feet). Each site also has a table, lantern post, fire ring and grate.

Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers ($) and a dump station. There’s also a  picnic area, marina and boat ramp nearby.  Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host. Cell service is good in the area.

You may also be interested in Tetilla Peak campground, located on the east side of the lake.

Cochiti Recreation Area

Outdoor recreation includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, windsurfing, sailing, hiking and biking. Wildlife viewing can also be good in the area.

    This site is close to our home and perfect place to camp. The campsites are nicely spaced and the campgrounds are clean and well maintained. Our two dogs love it here as well.

  3. we go to cochiti lake twice a year, we go during the week when its less crowed,our months are April or May and Sept. or Oct.
    its safe,clean, friendly, and reasonable cost.the bathrooms and showers are clean and really nice.
    some sites have great views of the lake, we like 51 and 53 the best. sometimes hard to get.
    most sites have elec. and water hookups.alldoin buffalo loop.
    there are tent sites as well.
    just a great place to camp, close to Albq. and Santa Fe.
