Dreher Island State Park Campground has 97 single-family campsites with many right on the shoreline of beautiful Lake Murray. The campsites can accommodate tents, trailers, and RV’s. Several campsites are large and right on the water. Each campsite has a paved pad, table, fire ring, and grill. Tent campsites and lakeside villas (2-3 bedroom), and primitive group camping are also available.
Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, showers, trash collection, WiFi, camp store and a dump station. There’s also a boat ramp, playground, gift shop/store and 10 picnic shelters at the Park.
Dreher Island State Park – Area Recreation
Dreher Island State Park is unique and well known for the 3 islands that link to the mainland by a causeway and two bridges. The 348 acre Park includes Lake Murray which has a 12 miles of shoreline and provides outstanding fishing, including national fishing tournaments.
In addition to camping, visitors also enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, boating, water sports, picnicking and wildlife viewing. The Park has long been a popular location for fishing tournaments.
Lake Greenwood State Park is another option that is nearby. You may also like Aiken State Park to the south.

We are coming for the drift jam and was wondering how the weather has effected the campgrounds and the lake.

How can I check for reservations I have already made for 2019. I don’t have reservation numbers.

To check reservations at Dreher Island State Park, you’ll need to call 866-345-7275. If you made a reservation, they should have record of it (your name / date of arrival).

Lake Murray is wonderful and Dreher Island State Park is a great place to camp.
Swimming is lovely and lots of campsites on the water. Fishing is very popular.
Hi, I’m looking in many places to put my small shed to live in. Has power hook ups, enough room for me. Please contact me if I can get this done at your place. Will be happy to send more pictures, etc. Also, no one will be living with me, I keep to myself and only want to be in a place to live that is peaceful. Absolutely no drama. Dreher Island State Park doesn’t allow long term / permanent occupancy – only camping (up to 14 consecutive nights). You may try calling the park to see if they have any suggestions: 803 364-4152.
