Thunder Rock Campground has 37 single-family campsites and is located next to the Ocoee River, just behind TVA Ocoee Powerhoue #3.  Some campsites are waterfront. Only campsite #9 has electric hookups (20/30 amp). Campsites 1-3 and 9-12 are tent only with a parking area about 100 feet away. One (walk-to) group campsite is also available. This is a popular campground for both whitewater and hiking enthusiasts.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 20 feet). Each site also has a table, lantern post, fire ring and grill. Parking spurs are gravel. Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, warm-water showers and trash collection. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host. Cell service is poor in the area.

Thunder Rock – Area Recreation & Activities

The Ocoee River put-ins and Ocoee Whitewater Center, home of the 1996 Olympic Canoe/Kayak-Slalom competition, makes this an great location for rafting and kayaking. Other activities include fishing, hiking, biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

    We have always loved staying there the former host was great I called yesterday and was told unless it saids reserved you can stay well got there and the dates wasn’t on there for this weekend and we was going to stay and the new host said she forgot to put reserved and dates on the sites and it was 3pm really? Very very rude people
