Located in the rugged and manly foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, Goose Point Park campground has 63 campsites for tents, trailers and RVs in three loop areas along the shores of Philpott Lake.  Fifty-three (53) of the sites have electric/water hookups. There are some pretty sweet RV sites right along the shore of the lake. Check out our ‘best campsites’ list and the campsite photos.

Each campsite has a table, fire ring and grill. The campground has modern restrooms with flush toilets/showers, drinking water and dump station.  You’ll also find a playground for the kids and picnic areas. Cell service is good in the area.

This is also a Corp of Engineers (COE) park and seniors can take advantage of a 50% discount on campsite fees.

Goose Point Park is open year-round, but only primitive campsites (no hookups) are available in off season (November – March). Outdoor recreation activities include camping, boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

Two other parks/campgrounds in the area are Fairy Stone State Park and Salthouse Branch Park.

Should mention that it is a (COE) Corp of engineers park.
Many seniors looking for their discount will love that it is 1/2 price.
