Dark Day Campground has 10 (walk-to/tent-only) campsites and is located overlooking the New Bullards Bar Reservoir.

Campsites are tent-only and it’s about a 100 foot walk from the parking area to the campsites. Up to 6 people can camp in a site. Each campsite also has a table, food storage locker (bear box), fire ring and grate. Campsites 1, 2 and 3 are double sites (up to 12 people), and campsite #4  is a triple site (up to 18 people). The maximum vehicle length in the parking areas arrange from 29 feet to 44 feet.

The campground is generally open from mid-April to mid-October. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, vault toilets and trash collection. Cell service is also good. A boat ramp, marina and supplies are available at the marina near Camptonville.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, water sports, picnicking and wildlife viewing. A boat ramp is also located near the campground.

Other campgrounds in the area include Fiddle Creek, Schoolhouse and Hornswoggle Group. Garden Point (Boat-In) Campground is also across the lake.
