Rio De Las Vacas Overview

Rio Del Las Vacas is a popular campground with 15 spacious campsites set among a beautiful forest of tall Ponderosa Pines at an elevation of 8,250.  Campsites 1-11 are reservable and sites 12-15 are first-come, first-serve.  The streams also runs along side the campground adjacent to some sites.

Campground amenities include drinking water (water spigots), vault toilets and trash collection. Firewood is also available for purchase from the camp host. Cell service is not available in the area.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Sites also have a table, fire ring and grate. Most also have a paved parking are and tent pad.

Rio De Las Vacas – Area Recreation

Popular recreation in the are includes fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, hunting and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also nice in the area.

You may also like Fenton Lake campground. Riana – Abiquiu Lake Campground is also about 27 miles away.
