What do they have in common? They both like water. No, that’s not it. They are both team names for Oregon Universities? Yep, that’s it! It’s fitting that they are both named after creatures that love the water because Oregon is full of it. Many lakes and rivers, beautiful beaches, and very wet air. More […]
Greg will be hitting the road again tomorrow, April 28, on a 5 month journey to one of our favorite parts of the country: Oregon and Washington. It will be a break-in trip for his new rig: Well, hopefully he’ll have something like that NEXT year. Once again he will be driving his Honda Element, […]
Greg makes his way home and made some stops along the way: Blackwater River State Park, Tickfaw State Park, Palmetto State Park, and Kartchner Caverns State Park On the way home we stopped at Blackwater River State Park in Florida for photos. A favorite destination for canoeists and kayakers, Blackwater River State Park offers opportunities […]
Greg is Homeward Bound with Two More Florida State Parks: Grayton Beach State Park and Henderson Beach State Park This will be my last post from the road on this trip. We left Florida on Friday heading back to California. We have about 2100 miles to cover and if all goes well we should be […]
Greg is reminded of Stephen Foster’s Old Folks at Home while visiting: Rainbow Springs State Park and Manatee Springs State Park Old Folks at Home, written by Stephen Foster, is better known as the song that goes “Way down upon the Suwannee River…” He actually never visited the river. It will make sense later. Greg and CampsitePhotos continues the adventure through the Florida Everglades: Hillsborough River State Park and Lake Manatee State Park We left Collier-Seminole on Wednesday bound for Hillsborough River State Park just north of Tampa. We stopped at three campgrounds along the way to take photos. In order from south to […]
They’re Baaaaack! But I will get to that in a bit. Greg and CampsitePhotos continues the adventure through the Florida Everglades: Collier-Seminole State Park We left the Florida Keys on Sunday morning. The weather had been perfect, but it rained on Saturday night so once again my tent was wet when I packed it up. […]
Our photographer in the field, Greg, visits Key West: John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, Long Key State Park, Curry Hammock State Park, and Bahia Honda State Park Jimmy Buffett’s song “Changes in Latitude, Changes in Attitude” captures the essence of the Florida keys perfectly. Anchoring the southernmost tip of the continental United States, the […]
Or not: And I wasn’t going to harass them either. How do you harass a manatee anyway? It’s not like I was going to call them rude names or make manatee tacos. I planned on just giving them a little scratch behind the ears. Oh well… Our Field Photographer Greg continues his swing through Florida […]
CampsitePhotos continues its swing through Florida campgrounds: The skies opened up on Tuesday night. It rained hard until midday Wednesday. I need an RV. I hate wet tents. This is what it looked like as we were leaving Anastasia: I had to carry my umbrella at our first stop, Faver-Dykes State Park. Here are some […]
