Badger Flats Group Overview

Badger Flats Group is a large group campground and is next to scenic Rancheria Creek in the Sierra National Forest. Huntington Lake is also nearby. It can have up to 100 guests and 35 vehicles (up to 35 feet).

This campground allows for RV, trailer, as well as tent camping. Fir trees provide plenty of shade for the campground and site. Each site also has tables, food storage lockers, fire pits/rings and BBQ grills.

Badger Flats Group is seasonal and usually open from late May until early September.

Amenities include vault toilets and trash collection (dumpsters). Potable (drinking) water is not available. Cell service is also not available in the area.  There are many other amenities here such as rentals and restaurants at the Huntington Lake Resort & Marina. A close by RV dump station is at Camp Edison (25mi southwest).

Badger Flats Group – Area & Recreation

The Sierra National Forest is on the western slope of the central Sierra Nevada. It has spectacular mountain scenery and an abundance of natural resources. The site sits on open and flat land. Some of the more popular activities to do at the campground and the surrounding area are hiking and photography. There is trailhead access to the Kaiser Wilderness. There is also a trail that connects to the California Riding and Hiking Trail. Huntington Lake also allows for many activities too. This includes hiking, horseback riding, biking, and many water activities like sailing and fishing. Anglers can fish for rainbow trout, brown trout or kokanne salmon.

Other campgrounds that you might like are Midge Creek Group, Kokanee, Rancheria, Lower Billy Creek, as well as Deer Creek.
