Black Mountain Group Campground California

Black Mountain Group Overview

Black Mountain Group View

Black Mountain Group Campground is located in a remote and beautiful setting of the San Bernardino National Forest, and about 16 miles north of Idyllwild. The large group camping is for tent only and can accommodate up to 200 people and 25 vehicles. Trailers are not recommended due to the long, narrow, rough and steep dirt road to access the campground.

Amenities include vault toilets, picnic tables and fire rings. Pets are also okay, but must be on a leash at all times.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation includes hiking, mountain biking, bouldering, picnicking, horseback riding, OHVing and wildlife viewing.  You can also access Black Mountain Lookout Tower via a trail from the campground. The top offers spectacular views of the Southern California.

Boulder Basin Campground is also a few miles away.
