Sage Hill Group Overview

Sage Hill Group Campground has 5 group campsites along the banks of the Santa Ynez River in the Los Padres National Forest. The Caballo group site is for equestrian campers and has 12 corrals and a hitching post.  Group campsites can accommodate up to 50 people and 10 vehicles. The equestrian group site can have up to 60 people. Each site also has tables, BBQs, a fire ring and grate.

The campground is usually open year round, but may be closed due to high water levels of the Santa Ynez river.  Click HERE on status of campground. Campground amenities include drinking water and flush toilets. Cell service is fair in the area. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs.

Sage Hill Group – Area Recreation

The Santa Ynez River is popular for a variety of water-related recreation including fishing and swimming. Cachuma Lake Recreation Area, a no-body-contact reservoir, is also nearby. It offers boating, kayaking and fishing opportunities. Other outdoor recreation in the area includes hiking, mountain biking, OHVing, picnicking and horseback riding. Wildlife viewing is also nice in the area.

Other campgrounds in the area include Cachuma Lake, Paradise, Los Prietos, Fremont and Upper Oso.
