Sardine Lake Campground Tahoe National Forest California

Sardine Lake Overview

Sardine Lake 023

Sardine Lake Campground has 27 campsites and is located on the banks of Salmon Creek in the North Yuba River Area. It is also close to the beautiful Sardine Lake.

The 27 campsites are rather small and cramped. Most of the campsites are good for tent camping, and some would handle a small trailer. Tall lodgepole pines provide shade to most campsites. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring/grill and food locker. All roads and campsite parking pads are paved. Amenities include vault toilets and drinking water. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host.

Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, backpacking, hunting, horseback riding, gold panning and wildlife viewing. Boating (with boat rentals), a general store and restaurant are located a few miles from the campground.

Other campgrounds in the area include Chapman Creek, Lakes Basin, Salmon Creek, Yuba Pass and Wild Plum. Campgrounds in nearby Packer Lake area include Packsaddle, Diablo and Berger.
