Tahoe SRA Overview

Tahoe SRA Campground has 28 campsites and is a nice little campground located 1/4 mile from Tahoe City on Highway 28. Most sites are reservable but a few (25, 26 and 27) are first-come, first-served.

Campsites can accommodate tents and small trailers/RVs. Some sites require a short walk (40-60 feet) from the parking area. Each has a paved parking pad, table, fire ring/grill, and food storage container. Sites can have up to 2 vehicles and 8 people. One hike/bike in site (#5) is also available. Parking spur range in length from 10 feet to 21 feet.

The campground is right on the highway (a bit louder for sites 1-6 and 20-27), but it is also right on the bike/walking path and a stone’s throw from the lake and downtown Tahoe City.

The campground is generally open late May to mid September. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, flush toilets, hot-water showers and trash collection (dumpsters). There are no hook-ups or dump station.

With Lake Tahoe nearby, there’s lots to do here including boating, fishing, water sports, winter sports, hiking, horseback riding, biking and wildlife viewing.

You may also want to check out Donner Memorial State Park, Silver Creek (Truckee), Lake Forest or William Kent campgrounds. All are in the area.
