Thorndike Campground Death Valley National Park California

Thorndike Overview

Thorndike Campground has 6 primitive campsites and is located in Death Valley National Park at an elevation of 7,400 feet. It is also near the Telescope Peak trailhead. All sites are first-come, first-serve. High-clearance (4×4) vehicles are recommended (trailers and RVs not advised).

Campsites have a table, fire ring and grate.  There is no water, but the campground has a vault toilet.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes OHVing, mountain biking, hiking, stargazing, picnicking and wildlife viewing. You can also visit nearby historic sites and mines.

Other campgrounds in the area include Mahogany Flat and Wildrose.
