Tuff Campground has 33 campsites along Rock Creek in the Inyo National Forest at an elevation of 7,000 feet. This Sierra Nevada campground is about 13 miles from Mammoth Lakes and 25 miles north of the town of Bishop. You’ll find a mixture of sagebrush, aspen, cottonwood and Jeffrey pine in and around the campground, but most campsites are in the open sagebrush area.

Tuff Campground gets its name from the “Tuff” rock formations that are scattered around the campground. The campground is laid out in there loops and some campsites have nice shade along Rock Creek. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each campsite has a table, fire ring, grate and food storage locker. The campground has drinking water, vault toilets, a dump station and firewood for sale. The campground is usually one of the first to open in the spring, but is generally open from late May through September.

Outdoor recreation includes fishing, hiking, rock climbing, backpacking, stargazing, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

Big Meadow is another nice campground in the area.
