Upper San Juan Overview

Upper San Juan campground has 18 single-family campsites and is located at 1,800 feet in the Cleveland National Forest about 9 miles west of Lake Elsinore. This is a prime California Poppy viewing area in the spring, and there’s also some really nice mixed-used trails.
The small campground is first-come, first-serve and can accommodate tents, and smaller trailers & RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate. Campground amenities include drinking water and vault toilets.
Upper San Juan – Area Recreation
The Cleveland National Forest provides habitat for native wildlife, as well as a natural refuge and playground for many of the 3 million plus residents in the greater San Diego area. Outdoor activities include hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
El Cariso and Blue Jay are two other nearby campgrounds.
