Walker Pass Campground California

Walker Pass Overview

Walker Pass Campground Vault Toilets

Walker Pass campground is located just off of California State Highway 178 and at the junction of the Owens Peak and Cache Peak segments of the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail.

The BLM campground has 14 primitive campsites primarily used for Pacific Crest Trail hikers and tent campers. Two of the sites have parking spurs and the rest are walk-to (ranging from about 100 feet to 300 feet). Four of the sites can be used for equestrian campers and have corrals.

There are pinyon pines and a few Joshua trees in this semi-arid setting and outstanding views of the dry, rugged foothills of the Southern Sierras.

The two developed Walker Pass campsites have a parking spur, table, shade ramada, fire ring and grill.  All of the other walk-to sites have a picnic table and fire ring. Hitching racks and corrals are available for horses. No potable water is available at this site. Cell service is fair in the area.
