Warm Springs Rec Area Overview

Warm Springs Recreation Area is a day use park next to Lake Sonoma and offers 6 different picnic sites that are available for reservations.  Sites 1-5 can have up to 75 guests. Site 6 can have up to 50 guests. Guests must park in one of two large parking areas and walk to the picnic sites. Warm Springs Rec Area does not allow for overnight camping. This park is pet friendly. Also, there is good cell service here. In addition, many trees provide shade for the area as well as the shade structures at the sites. Some of the sites are ADA accessible. This park is open year-round.

Amenities at the park and picnic sites include shelter, picnic tables, as well as a large grill. Also, there are flush toilets and drinking water. In addition, site 2 has a water hookup and a 15 amp electricity hookup. The park also offers volleyball courts, a large sports field, as well as a playground. The closest dump station options are Liberty Glen Campground dump station (5mi west) and Sonoma County Fairgrounds RV Park (28mi southeast).

Warm Springs – Area & Recreation

Some of the more popular things to do at the Warm Springs Recreation Area are hiking and playing sports. The Woodland Ridge Nature Trail begins at the park and winds up the ridge. This trail rewards hikers with great views of the Dry Creek Valley and Lake Sonoma. Also, there is a playground to enjoy for kids. In addition, Lake Sonoma provides a great opportunity for boating, fishing, and swimming. Anglers fish for large and smallmouth bass, catfish, and sunfish. A small native population of rainbow trout exists in the waters as well. The Lake Sonoma Marina has rentals and supplies available.

There are famous and historical vineyards in the area. The Milt Brandt Visitor Center has great information on the natural and cultural history of the area as well. San Francisco is about 1.5hrs-2hrs away which provides a great day trip destination.

Other campgrounds that you might like are Bushay Recreation Area, Island View, Black Mountain, Lake Sonoma Boat-In Sites, as well as Liberty Glen.
