Chatfield State Park Overview
Chatfield State Park campground has 197 campsites and is located in rolling hills and a short walk to Chatfield Reservoir. There are 120 sites with full hookups (located in A, B and D loops) and the remaining 77 sites have electric hookups only (loops B and C). Loops B & C also have 34 sits with detached tent pads. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate.
Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers, laundry, WiFi access and a dump station. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host. The park also has a marina, boat launch, and concessions.
The campground also has 10 group campsites with electrical hookups. There are four electrical pedestals at each group site. Each site accommodates up to 36 people and twelve camping units.

Chatfield State Park – Area Recreation
This popular Denver metro area park is surrounded by beautiful rolling foothills, an expansive reservoir and abundant wildlife. Outdoor recreation includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, water skiing, fishing, hiking, biking, horseback riding and picnicking. Visitors also can enjoy cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. The marina offers boat rentals.

Wife and I stayed for a week in August while visiting relatives in Littleton,it doesn’t get any better than here,hats off to workcampers they kept sites spotless,nice walking trail,will be back
Chatfield SP has undergone a major renovation of the reservoir and it has ruined the park. Someone needs to take new photos for this site. I booked site 10 in loop A 6 months ago and when we arrived it looked nothing like it. They have cut all the trees down and the view is now a parking lot. There is no access to the water from the camp for SUP or kayaking, or swimming. It was so awful we cancelled our reservation and went home.
Question – what do you base your choices for the best campsites?

Good question. Or photographer will make a list of his/her favorite campsites based on location (next to a river, lake, ocean), view, privacy, size, layout and how level the site is. Sometimes only a few of these factors may come in to play when comparing to other campsites.
