Cottonwood Grove Campground Colorado

Cottonwood Grove Overview

Cottonwood Grove Campground has 7 spacious (free) campsites set among large Cottonwood trees along the Gunnison River. All sites are first-come first serve and camping is free (7 day / 6 night maximum stay).

The BLM campground is generally open year round. Amenities include a boat ramp (non-motorized watercraft only), vault toilets and trash collection. Potable (drinking) water is not available.  Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill.

The roads to the campground are well-maintained (gravel) but may become impassable when wet. High clearance vehicles recommended.

Area Recreation and Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, rafting, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. The Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area is also nearby.
