Juan Mountains and offers visitors vies of Colorado’s most spectacular peaks. It is also adjacent to the largest wilderness area (Weminuche Wilderness) in Colorado.

Paddle boards (SUPs) and kayaks are also available for rent at the lake. Other activities in the area includes horseback riding, hunting, and OHV trail riding.
