  1. Nicci Clark says:

Kind of a “destination campground” as it is a 30 minute climb from Collbran. Pretty drive, with lots of cool rock formations on the way. Not a lot of shade at campsites ( some have covered tables, others do not). Visited July 15-18 , 2018, and reservoir was quite low. Beautiful views, sunrises, etc. if you just want to unwind and chill out. Lots of folks with jet skis, kayaks, and ATVs. It would be great if you could rent such things there— maybe in Collbran?

  2. We stayed in #112. It was great. Some of the sites face your camper away from the lake, which is fine but ours had our “patio” facing the lake which was nice. Site 113 is similar but doesn’t have a sun shade over the table. It was very windy the 2 days we were here, but when we returned to Grand Junction a friend said it was windy in GJ too. I don’t know if it is often windy at Vega. One weird thing- someone stole 1 sway bar from our hitch. Lesson learned- lock up your stuff at a campground…
