  1. Roger Sherwood says:

Came here to explore the CG since I cancelled it in favor of Silver Springs CG (good decision). Extremely disappointed with Juniper. It’s peak tourist & camping season in FL, and this place looked extremely neglected and in disrepair. Everything I wanted to see was closed & roped off. Many pavilions are fenced off with “keep out” postings, the amphitheater looked overgrown and abandoned. Every wooden boardwalk was blocked off. The on-site store is only open 3 days a week. The paddlewheel house exhibit was locked and empty inside. The campsites are spacious though, with good privacy between them, although there is no water or power. There is substantial shading from the trees so solar will be difficult. The restrooms were ok. The faucets are all push to active with timed water flow, including the showers. Shower water temperature was not adjustable. I’m glad I canceled my reservation in favor of Silver Springs because it would have been a disappointment with so many paths and points of interest being inaccessible. This site really could use some TLC to provide a better experience, especially for the price of entry (per person instead of per vehicle). The price they charge for admission to this level of experience is extremely disappointing.

    • Hey Roger,
Thanks for the review on Juniper Springs Rec Area. Sorry to hear it is basically in a state of disrepair. Hopefully they will redirect their efforts (and budget) to get it fixed back up again soon.
