  1. Steve Kight says:

My sister and I stay at Tomoka when we visit my brother in Ormond Beach at Christmas. Tomoka is a beautiful palm grove situated between two bodies of water. The campsites are very private due to the denseness of the palms and the way they are laid out. The bath houses, though not new, are always clean and pleasant. The camp store rents canoes and sells the usual stuff but on Saturday nights the couple that runs the store has Ukulele night when campers and non-campers alike get together and jam. How cool is that!!
Tomoka was a favorite destination of mine 35 years ago and still is and now my sister loves it too.

  2. The state park may be 1800 acres , but the campsites are crammed together with only a few feet between each. Weekends it becomes a party place for the local young people who are loud and disrespectful of others. I have been here 3 times for 1- 2 weeks and it’s the same every time. There’s not much to do around the area unless you like being stuck in traffic. This is the last time I will stay here. It’s definitely not camping!
