Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park Overview

Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park campground has 83 campsites and is located in a forest of beautiful pines next to Lake Blackshear. Sites 1-27 are located along the shore. Trailers & RV sites have water, electric and Cable TV hookups. All sites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate. Two group (Pioneer) sites are also available and can accommodate up to 50 people. They are remote, but have water & electricity, pit toilets and a picnic shelter. There are also 10 cottages available to rent.

Campground amenities include potable water, flush toilets, hot showers, a dump station, picnic shelter and playground. The park also has a boat ramp, archery range, golf course, visitor center & museum, disc golf course and a marina.

Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park – Area Recreation

The park was established as a memorial to U.S. veterans and features a museum with aircraft, armored vehicles, weapons, uniforms and other items from the Revolutionary War through the Gulf War.  The Park also has an 18-hole golf course and pro shop.  Lake Blackshear offers great fishing and water sports.  Additional outdoor recreation includes boating, fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, disk golf, picnicking, model airplane flying, Geocaching, a playground, and a short line excursion train.  Boat, canoe and kayak rentals are also available.
