Ridge Road Overview

Ridge Road Day Use Beach

Ridge Road Campground has 69 single-family campsites and is located on a scenic peninsula of J. Storm Thurmond Lake.  Many campsites are along the shoreline with beautiful views of the lake and 63 sites have water and 50-amp electrical service. Six sites are for primitive tent camping.

Campground amenities include drinking water, flush & vault toilets, showers, laundry facilities and a dump station. There’s also a playground boat ramp, dock and fish cleaning station. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate. Cell service is good in the area.

Ridge Road – Area Recreation

Outdoor recreation includes boating, fishing, water sports, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, swimming, hiking, biking and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also nice in the area.

Other campgrounds in the area include Mistletoe State Park, Hamilton Branch and Petersburg.

  1. Great campground. The campground is closed during the winter. Ants are a problem here as well as at the nearby campgrounds and state parks. Alcohol is not permitted. Very family friendly.
