Alturas Lake Inlet Overview

Alturas Lake Inlet campground has 28 large family campsites and is located next to the lake in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. There are 5 double sites, and campsites 2, 27 and 28 are the only ones on the smaller side (24 foot maximum). Several campsites have creek views.
Campsites are spread out and can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring, grate and foot storage locker. Campground amenities include drinking water and vault toilets. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host.
Alturas Lake – Area Recreation
Outdoor recreation includes boating, water skiing, jet skiing, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, biking, hiking, swimming, water sports, and wildlife viewing. You can even go scuba diving in the crystal clear water. In the winter you can also enjoy cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
North Shore and Smokey Bear campgrounds are also located next to Alturas Lake.
