Trap Creek Campground Sawtooth National Forest Idaho

Trap Creek Overview

Trap Creek Group Campground has one group site consisting of three smaller sites at the foot of the Sawtooh Mountain Range. It is located on a large meadow just off Highway 21.

The group site can accommodate up to 40 people and 8 vehicles (up to 30 feet).  The group site is generally open mid May to mid September. Amenities include vault toilets and trash receptacles. Cell service is not available. The group site also has tables, BBQs, fire ring and grill.

Trap Creek Group Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

Trap Creek is situated in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. A myriad of excellent hiking and biking opportunities are available, with an estimated 750 miles of trails crisscrossing the valley and surrounding mountains, including the Idaho Centennial Trail, which passes through the site.

Expansive and scenic Elk Meadow is near the campground, providing a great location for bird and wildlife watching.

Numerous sparkling lakes and streams, including the Salmon River, dot the area, making for great rainbow and native Westslope cutthroat trout fishing. Stanley and Redfish Lakes are also nearby, offering great boating, water skiing, canoeing, kayaking and fishing.

Sheep Trail Group Campground is also nearby and you may also like Bonneville and Bull Trout campgrounds.
