Venango Park Overview

Venango Park Campground has 126 campsites and is located on the eastern shore of Kanopolis Lake in central Kansas. Group camping is also available. The campground is situated on the shady tree-dotted shoreline. Sandstone bluffs, rolling hills, and vast, open prairie lands surround the lake.

The 126 campsites are a mixture of electric with water, electric only, primitive, and double sites. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill.

Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot-water showers, a dump station and trash collection. There is also a boat ramp, boat trailer lot, overflow parking, swim beach, playground and nature trail. Cell service is good in the area.

Other campgrounds in the area include Wilson State Park, Riverside (2 miles), Sylvan Park (36 miles), Lucas Park (36 miles) and Minooka Park (38 miles).

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, fishing, swimming, water sports, kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, biking, hunting, picnicking, OHV trail riding and wildlife viewing.
