John James Audubon State Park Overview

John James Audubon State Park campground has 71 campsites for RVs and trailers and 17 tent campsites. All of the RV/trailer campsites have electric hookups. Other lodging includes five 1-bedroom cottages and one 2-bedroom cottage.

The campground is generally open early April to mid November.  Amenities include heated restrooms with flush toilets, hot-water showers, a dump station, trash collection and playground.  The campground host also sells wood and ice.  Each campsite has a paved parking spur, table, fire ring and grill.  Cell service is good in the area.

Keep in mind that the campground is located just off busy US-41 so the traffic can get a bit noisy.

John James Audubon State Park – Area Recreation

The park has a beautiful museum dedicated to the life and work of John James Audubon, a nature center, conference room, golf course, gift shop, visitor center, lake, recreation center, docks, equipment rentals, hiking trails, picnic areas and tennis court.

If you’re heading south, you may want to check out Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park. It is about an hours drive via Highway 69.
