Horseneck Beach Campground has 100 single-family campsites and is located next to a beautiful beach at the western end of Buzzard’s Bay. Campsites 1-68 have electric hookups

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (28 to 42 feet). Each site also has a paved parking spur, table, fire ring and grill. Several campsites are right along the beach. Check-in time is between 1pm-9pm. Check out time is 11am.  Generator use is not permitted.

Amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot-water showers and a dump station. There’s also a playground, picnic area, basketball and volleyball courts, dish-washing station and boat ramp. No dogs or other pets, with exception of service animals, are allowed on beach from April 1 to September 15. They are okay in the campground (on a leash). Cell service is good.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation includes swimming, fishing, kayaking, boating, sunbathing, beach combing, hiking, biking, volleyball, basketball, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

You might also like Scusset Beach State Reservation, Fishermen’s Memorial State Park or Shawme Crowell State Forest Campground.

  1. We stopped camping there after the upgrade. We have been camping there over 35 years and enjoyed every minute of primitive style camping. If you want glamping go someplace else. The DCR made a big mistake with the upgrade and they will never recoup the cost. They never had a problem filling those 100 sites, so why the costly upgrade? For those of us familiar with that area we can say, just wait for the next big storm and see what happens to that cheap asphalt. I guess they forgot how much it cost to keep West Beach Rd clear. And who in their right mind would install electric pedestals at 5 feet above sea level. Those people on East Beach Rd will tell you how dumb that was. The DCR failed at its commitment to protect, promote, and enhance the state’s natural, cultural, and recreational resources.

  2. A great campground. We absolutely loved the view and the nicely paved sites. Everything about the campground was perfect for our family!
