Mears State Park Overview

Mears State Park Campground has 175 campsites with electric hookups and is on the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan and near Pentwater Lake. The park also offers alternative overnight accommodations, including the Dune Grass Villa Lodge, which sleeps up to eight people, and a furnished expandable hybrid camper available for rental.

The campground is open early April to late October.  Amenities include potable (drinking) water, flush toilets, trash collection (dumpsters) and an RV dump station. There is also a camp store, playground, fishing pier, picnic areas, beach house, EV fast-charing station and a swim beach. Cell service is good in the area.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site has an electric hookup, parking spur, table, fire ring and grill.

Mears State Park – Area Recreation & Activities

The park features approximately a quarter-mile of sandy Lake Michigan shoreline with a designated swimming area and accessible walkways to the water. Visitors can also enjoy fishing from an accessible pier, paddling along the shoreline, picnicking, and exploring a short quarter-mile self-guided nature trail. An accessible playground, beach house with restrooms and changing areas, concessions, and a pet-friendly beach at the south end of the park add to its appeal.

The park is also just steps from the vibrant and laid-back beach town of Pentwater. The town features an eclectic mix of shops, restaurants and a village green. Visit Pentwater.org for more information.
