Red River State Recreation Area Overview

Red River State Recreation Area campground has 109 single-family campsites in an urban setting close to the Red and Red Lake Rivers. There are 98 full hookup campsites and 3 with electric. There’s 4 walk-to sites and 1 group site.

Campground amenities include drinking water, flush & vault toilets hot-water showers ($), trash collection and a dump station.  There’s also a picnic area, playground, fishing pier, boat ramp and swimming beach. Free WiFi and firewood ($) are also available at the park.

Red River State Recreation Area – Area Recreation & Info

The park is the site of the East Grand Forks neighborhood that was destroyed by flooding in 1997.  The homes and other buildings have since been converted into a campground and recreation area along the Red and Red Lake Rivers.  Outdoor recreation includes boating, canoeing, kayaking fishing, swimming, hiking, biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
