William O Brien State Park Overview
William O’Brien State Park campground is located along the St Croix River and has 125 single-family campsites (71 with electric hookups). There are also 4 cabins to rent, 2 walk-in sites and 4 group sites.The forested area offers nice shade for beautiful 100-year old pine trees. Â Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 60 feet).
The campground is open year round. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, modern restrooms with flush toilets and hot-water showers, vault toilets, trash collection (dumpsters) and an RV dump station (available mid-April through mid-October). Each developed campsite has a table, fire ring and grill.
William O’Brien State Park – Area Recreation
William O’Brien State Park is only an hour drive from the Twin Cities area and is located on the banks of the St. Croix River. Outdoor activities include canoeing/kayaking, wildlife viewing, fishing, hiking, biking and winter sports. During the summer the park offers free equipment for overnight and day use visitors including fishing poles and tackle, birding kits, horseshoes, volleyballs, soccer balls and bocce balls! There’s also canoe and kayak rentals for paddling on the St. Croix River and Lake Alice.
Interstate State Park is also located along the St. Croix River about 15 miles north on MN-95 N. the campground has 37 campsites. You may also be interested in Wild River State Park.

We love this place there is so much to do!
My sweetheart, and I have an opportunity to use the Camper trailer. I would really like to try to get a spot right on the river where I could fish and swim and camp at the same spot. Would that be possible?
