Pinewoods Lake campground has 16 (first-come, first-served) campsites on the north shore of the 31-acre lake in the Pinewoods Lake Recreation Area. Most campsites have some nice shade and all have a parking spur, table, fire ring and grate.  Group campsites are also available and can be reserved.

The campground is generally open mid May to mid October. Amenities include potable (drinking water), vault toilets and trash collection. Other amenities include horseshoe pits, a day-use/picnic area, group picnic pavilion, primitive boat ramp and fishing pier. In addition to camping, other outdoor recreation includes boating (electric motors only), fishing, canoeing, kayaking, picnicking, horseback riding, mountain biking and wildlife viewing.

Markham Spring is another nice campground in the area. It’s about 21 miles away and has 51 campsites (some with electric hookups). Round Spring campground is also another option. It’s about 62 miles away and located on the shores off the Current River.
