Doughton Park Overview

Doughton Park campground has 132 campsites (9 tent only) in 3 loops. The campground has drinking water, flush toilets and a dump station. Each campsite is well shaded and has a lantern post, table, fire ring and grill. There are 21 reservable campsites and the rest are first-come first-served. The campground has drinking water, flush toilets and a sanitation dump station. The Park also has picnic areas and a visitor center. Cabins are also available for rent.
Doughton Park encompasses 7,000-acres of rolling ridgetop meadows and steep mountainsides. Outdoor recreation includes picnicking, camping, hiking, biking, horseback riding, motor touring and plenty of wildlife viewing. The famous Blue Ridge Parkway is and travels 469 miles from Shenandoah National Park in Virginia to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina.
Stone Mountain State Park campground is another option. It is 31 miles from Doughton Park and has 88 campsites.
