Morphy Lake State Park campground has 24 developed campsites and is located next to the lake in the heart of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains on the edge of the Pecos Wilderness. All campsites are first-come, first-serve (no reservations). The smaller campsites can accommodate tents, tables and RVs (up to 18 feet).

Campground amenities include vault toilets. There is no water and all campers must pack in and pack out all gear and trash. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host. There’s also a boat ramp for non-motorized craft and a picnic area.

Morphy Lake State Park – Area Recreation

The lake is stocked with trout and also is popular for kokanee salmon snagging. Boating is limited to canoes, kayaks and SUPs. Other outdoor recreation includes fishing, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. You can also enjoy ice fishing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter.

You may also like Coyote Creek State Park and Storrie Lake State Park.
