Elk Flat Campground Cave Lake State Park Nevada

Elk Flat Overview

Elk Flat campground is one of two campgrounds at Cave Lake State Park and has 15 campsites located about a mile from Cave Lake. Lake View is the other campground and is located over by the lake and is open year-round.

The seasonal campground is usually open early May to mid-October. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, h0t-water showers, flush toilets, trash collection and an RV dump station (at Lake View campground). Cell service is poor in the area.

Campsites are suitable for tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a gravel parking spur, table, fire ring and grate.

Elk Flat Campground – Area Recreation

From the campground you can enjoy hiking and mountain biking. Stargazing is pretty sweet too. Recreation over at the lake includes boating (boat ramp available), canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, picnicking, hiking and wildlife viewing. There are also a few ATV trails/roads in the area. Winter recreation includes ice fishing, ice skating, snowmobiling, sledding, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
